Lo Din Beeta..Lo Raat gayi

Life seems to be akin to this Bachchan Poem, every day passes with  the futile  hope of something new the next day .
I have touched the nadir as far as my career is concerned. On personal front , in past two years ,haven't acquired a hobby or skill to be proud of. May be it is the peril of the sunday evening, slipping by list fistful of sand and the looming Monday blues and a grinding week ahead . But whatever may be the reason , I am at the sulk zone. I tried to cheer myself up by hitting  search for  'British Lit heroes' on youtube. And the results were quite fascinating i must say!!  I had Darcy on my mind but came to know more such epic 'Byronic' heroes. The video that I liked the most was a catalogue of Brit Ladies talking about their favourate Hero off the pages . This is a 8 part series titled Heroes . This was like a treat and it gave me a list of books to order for. But as I expected , it went on to discuss Mr Darcy . By the end of a futile exercise of putting a face to their fantasies , a group of women led by the narrator of this documentary conclude that Colin Firth is the best Mr. Darcy ever. I am not surprised. I have been addictted to clolin firth ever since I saw the BBC series of 'Pride & Prejudice' .

I wonder if while penning down Pride & Prejudice, Jane Austen would have ever thought that her work will behold the imagination of young hearts for centuries to come, that the handsome , piercing and rather cold demeanor of Mr. Darcy would tingle the dreams of romance so profound…
Unlike what happens with popular fiction when turned into motion pictures, the charm and imagination pulverized into the limited capacity of a 2 hours, I find the tale of Pride & Prejudice rather grow beautifully . The first such enaction of the tale which made me believe in hopeless tales of romance again is the 1995 BBC tele series which is the adaptation of the classic divided into 6 episodes each of an hour duration. And Colin Firth, he fits every possible imagination of Mr. Darcy. He makes me feel miserable . The misery of a hopeless love , the long forlorn feeling of wanting someone so bad . Eyes ever so deep, dark curls , a glance so passionate , a weak heart shelled under a arrogant manner. I literally had my knees jerk with the glances he stole at Lizzy. And the scene in which he proposed to Lizzy succumbing to the pain of want and affection , his running up and down the room, putting his guards down and declaring his affection towards Lizzy only to be unscrupulously crushed , made me fall for him.
Such desire and passion!!

What better way to pep up the mood . Now I must tune in for the IPL Final.  Thanks to Cricket and movies that we have something new. I now understand why these players and performers are so ridiculaously over paid …for they give hope and  intellectual nourishment to lives that are mundane….

Kahne mein kya jaata hai

That moment when one of the prospective grooms you talked to while finalising on 'The One' gets engaged and sends you an invitation. You are curious to know how the 'bride to be' looks and it gives you immense relief to ascertain that you are better looking than her. :) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Writing is a very unique art. It lets your mind wander but in the right direction. It places you in oblivion but yet dawns upon you certain revelations. It locks you from the world but only to make you discover newer ones. Writing puts me at a different level of perception altogether. Its not about seeing your words in print but its about echoing your thoughts to the world. You can actually make a difference with your words! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The lack of confidence is taking a toll on life, its just that I am realizing it now. Never was competing with people about wo...

The Picture

Sifting through his almirah, Searching for a book He , drew out an old volume Off the rack, Something fell down, He turned , It was a picture of hers.. He has taken it, Silently, capturing her unaware While she was gulping down A 'Paani ka bataasha' He had waited for the right moment, Waited for her to open her mouth, Put the whole thing inside, Chew it softly, And squeeze her eyes 'Click'   'Waut u doin'?? She had asked with her mouth full.. I hate you for this, she squirmed Faking anger, she looked so silly He had decided he will get it printed.. With the silly face and disheveled   hair In the pale old picture She still looked beautiful..
