Yesterday I started back the Keto diet which is basically restricting your carbs intake to less than 20gms a day.
Well, the goals of the diet is Weight loss as I am around 10 kg overweight!
I wanted to chronicle my meals and this would sure help me stay on track..
So here it is
Monday, 30th Oct 17
Breakfast was two 'Over -Easy' eggs( I got to know this way of making eggs is called 'Over-Easy' yesterday only, that was exciting :D)
Lunch - Daal and
curd ( That, I later came to know, was a mistake! Dals are not Ket friendly and
should be avoided while on a Ketogenic diet!
Snack - Felt super
hungry around evening so microwave an egg in a cup. Super easy.
Dinner - 2 sausages
and veggies
31st Oct, Tuesday(Halloween and Salary day)
Well, everyone looks forward to the 'Your account has been credited message' at the end of the month and I used to celebrate the day with a mini feast of sorts, ordering my favorite snack 'Momos'! But today , I am celebrating the day with Mutton curry instead! So that's what for Dinner.
Breakfast : I had 2 scrambled eggs with mushrooms and beans on the side.
Lunch : Boiled Red Cabbage and green beans sauteed in butter and one tiny miny cocktail sausage.
Lunch - Leftover Mutton curry from the previous night and some raita.
Dinner - Chicken salami tossed in butter , two cocktail sausages along with boiled cauliflower all topped with generous amount of cream cheese.I love this diet. Yumm! First time that i had cream cheese at home.
I had to gulp down some psyllium husk (Isabgol) to get things moving, yeah a big side effect of protein based diets.
2nd November
Breakfast - Leftover tossed chicken with cauliflower with fresh helpings of cream cheese.
Snack - few almonds!
Dinner - I was feeling tired to make anything, so i nuked a cracked egg in a small cup and had only that for dinner.
3rd November - Fridayy!
Wokeup with a foggy brain and stretchy ankles. Had a big mug of salt water with Apple cider vinegar.
Breakfast was a hasty , uninspired egg omelet with a sausage.
Snack - Fried some almonds in coconut oil and yumm!

5th November - It is sunday afternoon and the weighin this morning revealed that i have loast two kgs since Monday, that is great considering all the yummy stuff i have been eating. i love this diet. Oh..not DIET! i have learned from several internet forums that Keto is not a diet but a "Way of eating" commonly known as woe. Baby D is sleeping and i had a bowl of leftover baigan ka bharta and that is all. I do not feel hungry anymore. And yes, my Ketostix arrived and i tested myself and the result was very purple.
Watching downtown Abbey season 1 on Amazon Prime. I wish i had ordered the Amazon firestick earlier. It has made our non smart TV a smart one. Wish there was a drive like that for us humans. Ahh this moment, it is so peaceful. Lunch over, laundry hung out to dry, baby sleeping and i am watching a brit drama. This Sunday afternoon cant get better. Then there are the looming Monday blues, waiting to spread their ugly fangs.

Update 28th Jan 2018 - Well, the weighing scale is usually a big fat liar. I have stopped tracking my weight , well do weigh in weekly, but not as madly as i was doing in the beginning of my keto journey. This morning i weighed 52.3 kgs. So i have lost around 6kgs since the first week of November. I plan to take a braek from keto after the wedding of my BIL and then jump right back in once we settle down in Hyderabad. Yes. We are moving, second time in 2 years. And soo happy to leave this god forsaken city called Gurgaon.
